Psalm 126, Die mit Tränen säen

Composer Johann Hermann Schein (1586-1630) will not be featured on any solo keyboard concerts, though in his day he was regarded as one of the best composers in Germany. Back then nearly every professional musician had some connection to church music; weekly demands called for sacred motets, cantatas, and organ works for use on Sundays. And rather than writing pure instrumental works, Schein channeled his organ skills and ideas into accompanied vocal music such as this motet setting part of Psalm 126, Die mit Tränen säen.
